Suspect dead after Amarillo police respond to reports of armed person inside Walmart

AMARILLO, TEXAS – Authorities responded to a Walmart in Amarillo amid reports of an armed person inside the store “who may have hostages.”

The Amarillo Police Department said Tuesday that suspect has been shot and is apparently dead and the hostages are safe.

Residents are being asked to avoid the area.

The Randall County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page states they consider it a work-place violence situation.
