As flags fly at half-mast for the victims of the worst mass shooting in our nation’s history, local law enforcement and universities are joining the world in sending their support to the people affected by the attack.

Old Dominion University will be holding a candlelight vigil Monday night on the steps of the Webb University Center at 7 p.m. They aim to bring people together in support of the LGBTQ community.

The Lambda Alliance, a student organization at the College of William & Mary will also hold a candlelight vigil for Orlando, Monday night at 8:30 p.m. at the Wren Building.

“Come join Lambda Alliance in paying respects to the victims of the shooting in Orlando, send strength to the friends and family of the victims, and to help the LGBTQ and Latinx communities heal.”

Local law enforcement departments have taken to social media to show their support for the Orlando community.
