Man wanted in Hampton double shooting

HAMPTON, Va. - Police arrested a man in connection with a double shooting that took place on June 9.

Torrance Douglas Jr, a 20-year-old Hampton man, was arrested on July 1 on charges of Malicious Wounding, Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony and Discharge of a Firearm in a Public Place.

Officers were called to the 4100 block of Hazelwood Road around 4 p.m. Thursday on a report of a shooting.

According to police, when they arrived officers found two adult males suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both victims were transported to local hospitals. One victim has possible life threatening injuries and the other is expected to survive.

The investigation revealed that a group of individuals who knew each other got into an altercation.

During the altercation, multiple guns were displayed and there was an exchange of gunfire. This lead to two individuals suffering gunshot wounds.

Police believe this is an isolated incident, not a random act of violence.
