Meteorologist April Loveland’s First Warning Forecast

A slight chance for a scattered shower or storm tonight…lows near 70.

Our attention turns to Sunday…a strong cold front will approach from the west with scattered showers and thunderstorms. The best chance to see storms will be in the late afternoon to evening hours. These storms have the potential to become severe. Large hail, heavy rain, and localized flooding possible.  An isolated tornado is not out of the question. It’ll be a steamy day with highs in the upper 80s. The cold front will move off the coast late Sunday into Monday with some lingering showers early Monday, followed by a mixture of sun and clouds.

Saturday night: Slight chance for showers and thunderstorms.  Lows near 70 degrees.

Sunday: Mostly cloudy skies. Some early morning patchy fog possible for northeastern North Carolina. Showers and thunderstorms developing by late afternoon and evening. Some of these storms have the potential to become severe. Highs in the upper 80s.

Sunday night: Showers and storms. Lows near 70 degrees.
