Virginia Beach Police find man with meth manufacturing materials at the Oceanfront

Cornelius Wesley McCoy was charged with Manufacturing/Possession of a Controlled Substance and Attempted Felony Violation of the Drug Act.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Detectives conducted a narcotics investigation at the Oceanfront Monday evening.

Officers with the Virginia Beach Police Department’s Oceanfront bike patrol found a man inside a tent on the beach at 40th Street at the Virginia Beach Boardwalk around 4:15 p.m.

The officers discovered items that are consistent with the manufacturing of methamphetamine.

Cornelius Wesley McCoy, 35, was arrested for the incident. McCoy has been charged with manufacturing/possession of a controlled substance and attempted felony violation of the drug act.

Virginia State Police and the Virginia Beach Fire Department HazMat Unit assisted in the investigation.
