Hampton police looking for car dealership burglary suspect

HAMPTON, Va. – Police have identified three people suspected of stealing vehicles from a Hampton Chevrolet car dealership.

It happened just after 3 a.m. on May 24.

Three suspects broke into the dealership, located in the 1000 block of West Mercury Boulevard. The suspects came into the dealership by breaking into one of the back doors. Once there were inside, they stole the keys to multiple vehicles and drove the vehicles out of the dealership lot.

Two of the stolen vehicles have been found, but they’re still looking for a gray 2011 Chevrolet Cruz.

Officers noticed one of the stolen vehicles in the area of Pine Chapel Road and Coliseum Drive Tuesday afternoon around 1 p.m.

The officers tried to pull the vehicle over, but the driver led police on a brief pursuit. The car was stopped in the 1900 block of Saville Row and officers detained a 17-year-old Newport News girl. Police have obtained petitions for the teen, including one count of Burglary, three counts of Grand Larceny Auto, one count of Conspiracy to Commit a Felony, one count of Possession of Stolen Property and one count of Evade and Elude.

A second suspect has been identified as another 17-year-old girl from Newport News. Police obtained petitions for one count of Burglary, three counts of Grand Larceny Auto, one count of Conspiracy to Commit a Felony, and one count of Possession of Stolen Property.

Police are still looking for the third suspect in the case, 19-year-old Donte Miles McClure of Newport News. McClure has warrants out for one count of Burglary, three counts of Grand Larceny Auto, one count of Conspiracy to Commit a Felony, two counts of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor and one count of Possession of Stolen Property.
