Portsmouth, Va. – A Portsmouth woman is asking that city Councilman Bill Moody be reprimanded for alleged threats against her.

Ursula Murphy says she posted screenshots from a PowerPoint presentation in a Facebook group and asked why the public wasn’t allowed to see it.

"There were several things that caused me some concern regarding the number of trucks that we had, regarding the trucks not being weighed in and out of the landfill," Murphy said.

She says after people started commenting on it, she received a message from Moody saying she could face a libel suit.

"His sending me a threat to sue me meant that there was something else going on," Murphy said.

Murphy wants him either to resign or be sanctioned by the council.

During last night's council meeting, Moody stood by his statement.

"It`s nothing here that I  would walk back. You need to--don`t beat around the bush. You initiated the conversation. Someone you condoned added my name to it and I will defend it," Moody explained.

Moody says the call for his resignation is due to the firing of former City Auditor Jesse Thomas. Moody says he more than likely won't file the lawsuit but will just ignore the situation.
