Sunny to start the week, but showers and storms are moving back in….As we start the work week, an area of high pressure will control our weather. That means we’ll see a good deal of sun on Monday.  By late afternoon into the evening, a few high clouds will start to build across the area. Still, we should remain dry through the day.  High temperatures will warm into the upper 60s and lower 70s.

Then, grab your umbrella. A slow moving cold front will move in from the west starting Tuesday, giving way to scattered showers and thunderstorms. We’re expecting more rain and possible storms Wednesday. High temperatures will be in the mid 70s on Tuesday, then falling into the upper 60s by Wednesday. Our forecast models are trending drier for Thursday. However, a couple of showers are not out of the question for the Outer Banks Thursday. Highs will be in the lower 70s. By Friday, we’ll see partly sunny skies with highs in the lower 70s.

Tonight: Mostly Clear and Cool. Low temperatures in the mid and upper 40s. Winds:  N/NW 10-15 mph.

Monday: Mostly Sunny to Partly Cloudy. High temperatures in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Winds: W/NW 5-10 mph.

Tuesday: Mostly Cloudy. Scattered Showers and Storms (60%). High temperatures in the mid 70s. Winds: S 5-15 mph.
