Newport News Police say they received a call at 8:45 p.m. Sunday night from a 37-year-old woman reporting that she went on a blind date with a man at Luigi’s Italian Restaurant at 15400 Warwick Boulevard.

The woman said that during dinner, the man reportedly forcibly pulled her away from the restroom before pushing her into his vehicle outside of the restaurant.

The woman said she was able to get away and call police. An investigation began and warrants were issued for the man’s arrest.

However, during the course of the investigation, inconsistencies were found in the woman’s account of the incident.

NewsChannel 3 heard from a spokesperson at Luigi’s who says the restaurant wasn’t even open on Sunday. The owners of the restaurant notified police when they read about the incident.

Newport News Police now say the original warrants for the man’s arrest were voided and they have now arrested the woman, 37-year-old Lilahmae Holloman Dalton and charged her with Forgery and False Report.
