PORTSMOUTH, Va. – Maxine Vinson got a call on the night of January 20, 2015, asking if she knew where her son Omar was. Police and crime scene tape blocked off the sub shop where the 18-year old worked.
“I got nervous and I called his phone, and he wouldn’t answer his phone,” Vinson said. “I called again, and he wouldn’t answer his phone. I said, ‘Something’s not right.'”
Something wasn’t. Police found Omar Booker lying inside Philadelphia Cold Cuts. Someone shot and killed him.
“That just ripped my heart out of my chest because that was my baby, my baby boy,” Vinson said.
In the days after the shooting, police released dark surveillance images, showing the two people they believe killed Omar, but who are they? Why did they do it?
“They’ve got two guys running from the scene, but they can’t identify them,” said Vinson. “Why not?”
