If you're driving down Kellam Road in the Aragona Village neighborhood, a hand-made sign may catch your eye.

"The sign says, "Lock your cars. Hoodlums on the loose breaking in and stealing," Heather Castello told NewsChannel 3.

Castello made the sign after her car was broken into.

"They're hoodlums for breaking into someone's vehicle and stealing things that don't belong to them," Castello said.

She says she left her car parked in her driveway and forgot to lock it one night.

Someone went in, and stole her daughter's birthday money and her husband's gun.

That day, Castello began working on her sign.

"I'm hoping that will help people to lock their cars and lock their houses. Who knows what these people are capable of doing. They're criminals, they're hoodlums," she said.

Castello's neighbors are happy she put up the sign.

"Good for her! I say good for her because maybe that will wake these kids up, or whoever, and say maybe we should stop doing this,"
