Warmer weather is on the way….It’s been a chilly weekend for a lot of us across Hampton Roads and Northeastern North Carolina. But as we begin the work week, we’re expecting a big warm up.

For today, expect high temperatures in the mid and upper 60s under mostly sunny skies. Our winds will be fairly strong from the northeast between 15 and 25 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph. Because of the strong winds and dry conditions, there is an Increased Fire Danger threat across most of Northeastern North Carolina today. Tonight, the winds will settle down. Overnight low temperatures will be in the low and mid 40s.

On Monday, even more sunshine is in the forecast. High temperatures will be in the mid and upper 70s. On Tuesday, we’ll be in the upper 70s and lower 80s. But a cold front will move in from the north late Tuesday, giving way to highs in the 60s Wednesday and Thursday. Rain and possible storms move back in Friday.

Today: Mostly Sunny and Mild. Windy. High temperatures in the mid and upper 60s. Winds: NE 15-25 mph, gusts to 30.

Tonight: Clear and Chilly. Not as Windy. Low temperatures in the low and mid 40s. Winds: NE 5-10 mph.

Tomorrow: Mostly Sunny and Warm. High temperatures in the mid and upper 70s. Winds: N-SE 5-10 mph.
