PORTSMOUTH, Va. – Several Hampton Roads cities participated in the Great American Cleanup on Saturday, April 12.
The Keep America Beautiful Great American Cleanup is the nation’s largest community improvement program, engaging more than 5 million volunteers and participants every year to create positive change and lasting impact in local communities.
The City of Portsmouth enlisted the help of many volunteers to help clean parts of the city on Saturday.
The Suffolk Clean Community Commission also held an event Saturday to participate in the Great American Cleanup. They offered a recycling drive, document shredding and a food drive to benefit the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia.
