Hampton, Va. – The 16th annual International Children’s Festival takes place in downtown Hampton on Saturday, allowing children of all ages to experience the sights, sounds and tastes of 38 countries!

A wealth of activities are planned for this year’s program, including a costumed Parade of Nations and entertainment on three different stages.

Performances include the popular Dragon Head Dance, native folk dancers, and musicians as well as the Oompa Band the Happy Dutchmen, who will be strolling the crowds playing music and interacting with the audience.

Returning to the festival once again is the ever popular “Animals From Around the World,” featuring camel rides for $3.00 per person!

To help children further simulate real travel and enhance their worldwide journey, Passports to Adventure will be available for $1.00 each and when purchased the child will be entered into a special “World Traveler” prize drawing. Any time a child visits a country, they will have their visas stamped to confirm their interaction with the ambassadors of that country.

In addition to the activities of the day, vendors will offer (for a fee) exotic and tempting treats from Africa, Greece, Germany, Korea, Panama, Thailand, and more. The designated food court area will remain open until the conclusion of the festival.
