VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – A couple living in the Castleton neighborhood say they woke up to a bullet in their living room.

“It just completely shakes you up,” they told NewsChannel 3. “It’s terrifying. It’s definitely terrifying, it’s not something I wish on anybody to go through.”

Out of fear for their safety, they asked NewsChannel 3 to keep them anonymous.

A neighbor says they heard a gunshot around 1:45 AM.

It was around that time that a suspicious car is caught on a neighbor’s security camera circling  Mulberry Loop.

The couple says the bullet went through four walls before making it inside their home. They say they are fortunate it happened when they were asleep.

“That’s just an invasion of your home, like if you don’t feel secure in your home, where do you feel secure?”

Other neighbors living in Castleton say they have never heard of any violence in the neighborhood, which is full of families with young children.

“That is very, very scary,” says Alyaih Peterkin-Glover. “This is Castleton, this just don’t happen here, just don’t.”

The couple says they turned the video of the suspicious car over to police, along with the bullet.

Now they have installed cameras at their own home.

“We just want answers,” she says.

According to the Virginia Beach Police Department’s website, the couple did file a police report which says the investigation is on-going.

NewsChannel 3 reached out to police to get additional about the on-going investigation.
