Three local cities make top 10 smartest places to live list

Virginia – One thing that people look for when they move to a new location is the intelligence of those around them.

This factor plays a huge role when deciding on where to live.

A city with an intelligent population also makes sense for companies when deciding upon a new location.

When calculating the data, the factors that were included are; the percentage of adults over 25 with at least a high school degree, and the percentage of high school dropouts between the ages of 16 and 20 for the 62 largest cities in the state.

After compiling the data here’s the list:

  1. Blacksburg

2. Vienna

3. Falls Church

4. Poquoson

5. Williamsburg

6. Fairfax

7. Virginia Beach

8. Fredericksburg

9. Purcellville

10. Salem

Poquoson comes in at number 4 with a population of 12, 103 .

Their teenage high school dropout rate is at 0%.

The next Hampton Road’s city to come in on the list at number 5 is Williamsburg, where there is a population of 14,401 residents.

While 8% of the adults in that city don’t have a diploma, 0% percent of the teenagers there have dropped out of high school.

Finally, coming in on the list at number 7 is Virginia Beach with a population of 445,623 people.

With so many people living in Virginia Beach, they only have a teenage dropout rate of 1.9% within the city.

These are the smartest cities in the Hampton Roads area based off of Adults with high school diplomas and teenage dropout rates.
