66-year-old motorcyclist killed in crash on Eastern Shore

Birdsnest, Va. – Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred Thursday morning in the 9100 block of Lankford Highway (US-13) on the Eastern Shore.

The crash occurred at 8:32 a.m. and involved a motorcycle and an SUV, police say.

The investigation has revealed that the driver of the 2015 Honda motorcycle was traveling westbound on Red Bank Road when he attempted to make a right turn onto Route 13.

It was then that the motorcycle was hit by a 2008 Saturn SUV with the right-of-way traveling northbound on Route 13.

The driver of the motorcycle, identified as 66-year-old Mark S. Cousineau of Falling Waters, West Virginia, was thrown from the motorcycle and died on impact.

The driver of the SUV, 33-year-old Christopher Damian Tolbert of Chesapeake, and the three passengers inside were not injured in the crash.
