Portsmouth, Va. – The month of April has been designated as military child month by Governor Terry McAulliffe.

The Children’s Museum of Virginia encourages everybody to recognize not only military servicemen and women for their service, but also their families.

From April 9-April 30, the Children’s Museum of Virginia  will offer a special “military big kids coupon”.

This means that one adult is admitted free with each child’s paid admission.

You must have a valid military I.D in order to participate in the deal.

They will also be hosting a “Month of the Military Child” photo contest where they will post photos of military children on their website and allow the public to vote.

The winner will receive a free family membership and a $25 museum gift card certificate.

In order to participate you must upload the photo to facebook and tag them with #cmvamomc.
