Norfolk, Va. – Carafello’s Auto Sales has now been removed from the Navy’s off-limits list officials say.

The Commander of the Navy Region Mid-Atlantic made the announcement this week.

The dealership, which is located at 6328 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., was put on the list in November after the Armed Forces Disciplinary Control Board for South Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina determined they were bird-dogging.

This is an illegal practice that happens when someone refers a possible customer to a specific dealership or salesperson for a fee or compensation.

Only individuals who are licensed to a dealership are able to help customers purchase vehicles.

The company provided evidence that demonstrates that they are in compliance with Virginia dealer laws and regulations.

The following businesses are still on the off-limits list:

• 7 City’s Custom & Design, 117 E. Princess Anne Rd., Norfolk
• Blazin Herbs, 85 W. Mercury Blvd., Hampton
• 7 City’s Custom & Design, 1062 37th St., Norfolk
• Mellow Smoke Tobacco Shop, 1948 Diamond Springs Rd., Virginia Beach
• Outer Edge Gifts, 760-B J. Clyde Morris Blvd., Newport News
