Suspect arrested in Camden County armed robbery

Camden County, N.C. – Deputies are investigating an armed robbery in Camden County.

According to the Camden County Sheriff’s Office, the J & E Oasis convenience store at 202 Main Street in South Mills was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday around 8:50 p.m.

An undisclosed amount of cash was taken.

A suspect was identified through store surveillance cameras. Austin Lee White, 19, of Elizabeth City was charged with Felony Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon Thursday afternoon and was placed in the Albemarle District Jail under a $100,000 bond.

Deputies say another suspect was with White and will be charged in the near future.
