Hampton, Va. – A woman was killed in a car crash in Hampton Saturday night.
The crash happened at East Mercury Boulevard and Cherry Acres Drive just before 10 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found an overturned vehicle and a woman inside.
The woman was later identified as Shakura Adams, 37, of Hampton. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police initially reported that Adams was pregnant, but they later said that was not correct.
The vehicle was traveling east on Mercury Boulevard when Adams lost control of the car, causing it to flip.
Hampton Police are still investigating the crash.
