Norfolk,Va.- After investigating a suspicious package, police and fire crews say the area is now safe.
According to police, they received a call around 12:30 p.m. for a suspicious package on the 800 block of North Military Highway.
The bomb squad responded and police asked people to avoid the area.
After several hours of investigating, police say the package was determined to be safe.
Southbound lanes have since reopened.
