The snow moves out, but the bitterly cold weather moves in for the weekend….The area of low pressure that brought a lot of us snow Friday has pushed offshore. However, any lingering snow on the ground and the roads will freeze, causing dangerous travel conditions through the night into Saturday. In fact, temperatures will fall into the mid 20s overnight. The winds will also be picking up on this Friday night from the northwest between 10 and 15 mph.

Let’s talk about the weekend. Some of the coldest air we’ve seen this season will settle in. On Saturday, high temperatures will only reach the lower 30s. It will feel even colder with strong winds from the northwest between 15 and 25 mph. Those winds will stick around into Sunday. In fact, by Sunday morning, wind chills will be near zero!  High temperatures will climb into the upper 20s. The bright side to this weekend’s weather is that we’ll see plenty of sun.

However, next week, our weather will take a dramatic turn.  Another system will move in Monday, giving way to a mix of rain, sleet and snow.  Into Tuesday, we’ll likely see a changeover back to rain.  Highs will warm up into the mid 50s. Stay with the First Warning Storm Team for constant weather updates on-air and online.
