Portsmouth, Va. – Firefighters are on the scene of a house fire in the 4200 block of Craneybrook Lane.
When crews arrived just after 8 a.m., smoke and flames were showing from garage of the single story home.
Fire officials say it appears that the flames started in the garage, then burned through the roof. As a result, the roof collapsed.
The fire has not been declared under control at this point. Officials say the smoke has been pouring nonstop for hours.
The homeowner says she was in the home when it started.
