Gates County, N.C. - Gerald Waverly Bass has been arrested in regards to the murder of Calvin Bell.

Dive teams were also out looking for new evidence that could help with the case at Highway 137 on January 28, but were pulled out of the water because it was too cold.

The prime suspect in the case isAaron Holland, who was arrested on October 7, 2015.

Holland is accused of shooting and killing Bell in a field near Bell's house in the Hobbsville area in North Carolina.

Gates County Sheriff Edward Webb says Bell was found dead from an apparent gun shot wound inside his home in the Hobbsville area of NC-37 before the intersection of NC-32 around 10:15 a.m.

With .40 caliber shell casing near his body, Bell was found shot in the face and body several times in a field near his home, according to court documents.

Officials responded to reported gun shots, and upon arrival believe that Bell's death was the result of a home invasion.
