Elizabeth City church employee arrested for stealing church offerings

Elizabeth City, NC – A 56-year-old Elizabeth City man was arrested on January 20th because it is believed that he stole church offerings from several services in late 2015, according to Elizabeth City Police.

Timothy Wilder Stallings was an employee of Cavalry Baptist Church, located at 801 Riverside Avenue.

According to his arrest warrant, it is believed that Stallings stole church offerings from services on October 11th, October 18th, November 15th, November 22nd, and November 29th.

This included one $850 personal check and $130 in cash.

Stallings has been charged with one county of Larceny by Employee. He has been taken to the Albemarle District Jail under a $1,000 secured bond.

Members of the Elizabeth City Police Department are currently following up on other leads and the investigation is still on-going at this time.
