Man taken to hospital after shooting in Newport News

Newport News, Va. - A man has been sent to the hospital with minor injuries after being shot Friday evening, according to police.

Dispatch received a call about a shooting on Warwick Boulevard just before 8 p.m.

The victim, a 23-year-old man from Williamsburg, was shot in his right leg.

The victim told police he was shot when he got into an argument with another man.

After the victim was shot, he was able to walk to his friend's house on Campbell Road.

The victim described the man who shot him as a black male with a 5 star tattoo on his neck, wearing a black hooded shirt and white and red Jordan shoes.

The man was with two other black males in a black Toyota Camry.
