***FLOOD WARNING is in effect for the Nottoway River in Sussex County. Minor flooding is occurring. The river will continue rising to near 16.8′ Sunday afternoon. River levels are expected to fall below flood stage Monday morning.***

More unsettled weather is on the way….We hope you enjoyed the summer-like on Christmas Day. But if you’ve been waiting for some cooler weather, just hang on! We are tracking much cooler temps by next weekend. As we move through this Saturday, expect a good deal of clouds and areas of fog. An isolated shower is possible. High temperatures will be in the mid and upper 60s. Tonight, areas of fog are possible with low temperatures in the upper 50s. On Sunday, some of us will see some sunshine between the clouds. High temperatures will warm into the mid and upper 70s. Next week, get ready for more rain. In fact, there will be a chance of rain each day as several weather systems move our way. Highs will be in the 60s and 70s. By next weekend, though, there will be a big shift in our weather pattern as the jet stream moves farther to the south and delivers cooler drier weather into the new year!
