UPDATE: According to police, the woman's condition has improved and she may be able to return home as early as Monday. The only information she has been able to give police about her attacker so far is that it was a black male in his twenties.
Newport News, Va. - An 86-year-old woman was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries Saturday morning after she was found lying in bushes in the 13200 Block of Warwick Boulevard.
The woman was found at approximately 7:16am with injuries to her head and liver and several severe lacerations and bruises on her body. Medics transported her to a local hospital
The victim was known by local businesses that she would collect cans from each morning.
There is no suspect information at this time
