Portsmouth, Va. – A Portsmouth woman is now $200,000 richer after winning big in the Virginia Lottery’s Jewel 7’s Scratcher game.

Marshona Chandler bought the winning ticket at Portsmouth Manor Market at 5701 Portsmouth Boulevard.

She scratched the ticket as she sat in her car while her nephew was pumping gas. Suddenly, she cried out to him, “Hang up the pump!”

“I couldn’t say anything. I couldn’t believe it,” she later said.

The odds of winning the top prize in this game are 1 in 734,400. The odds of winning any prize are 1 in 4.27. Ms. Chandler is the second person to claim the top prize, which means eight $200,000 tickets remain unclaimed.
