Teen injured after falling off of moving Jeep in Virginia Beach

Virginia Beach, Va. – A 17-year-old hit his head after falling off of the back of a moving Jeep on Wednesday.

Officers responded to a call about a vehicle and pedestrian crash near Tallwood High School around 10:00 a.m.

According to police, a 17-year old boy tried to stand on the top of an older model Jeep as a “stunt.”  The teen fell off of the back of the moving car onto the street, where he hit his head.

The teen was taken to the hospital for bumps, bruises and a broken collar bone.  He has been released from the hospital.

Police are not sure if any of the people involved in the incident are Tallwood High students.

The 17-year-old female driver was cited for reckless driving. The victim will be charged with not wearing a seatbelt and riding in an unauthorized space.

Traffic Safety Unit officers are investigating the scene of the incident.
