Pair wanted in Gloucester carjacking arrested in Tennessee, face murder charges in Georgia

Gloucester County, Va. - A man and woman wanted in a November 11th carjacking and robbery in Gloucester County have been arrested in Tennessee.

27-year-old Brandon Shawn Smith of Gloucester and 37-year-old and Stephanie Maria Rodriguez of Thoreau, New Mexico allegedly approached their victim at the Langley Federal Credit Union ATM asking for a ride. Reports say the two then held the victim at gunpoint, forcing the victim to drive to the end of Williams Landing Road.  The suspects told the victim to get out of the vehicle and drove away in the victim's car.

Investigators tracked the two to Tennessee where law enforcement agencies located the vehicle on November 21st and arrested both Smith and Rodriguez. Both were charged in Tennessee with possession of stolen property.

The Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office has obtained charges for Smith for carjacking, possession of a firearm by convicted felon, abduction, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Charges are pending against Rodriguez.

Both are also being held in Tennessee on charges out of Covington, Georgia for the robbery and murder of an elderly woman in a Walmart parking lot. Additional charges in other states are expected.
