Norfolk, Va. – A 33-year-old North Carolina man was sentenced to 240 months in prison and lifetime supervised release after transporting women to Virginia for prostitution.

Court records say that over the course of one year, Knight took at least three women to Virginia and other places in order to further his prostitution business.

Records also state that Knight took one of the victims to places for prostitution in North Carolina, New York, Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C. before taking her back to Virginia.

Knight used the Internet to advertise the prostitution services, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Knight assaulted the women, beating one victim so badly that she was hospitalized multiple times.

Knight was arrested in November 2014 after a victim called 911 for help.

Officials say that Knight was involved in the prostitution business for almost 9 years before he was arrested and made $20,000 per month.
