Hampton, Va. – Hampton Roads has long been an area that encourages artistic expression through murals and other art forms to music to dancing.

In a weekend that included the first-ever Neon Fest and the 28th annual Town Point Wine Festival in Norfolk, the ‘CAN’ (Contemporary Arts & Networking) festival in Downtown Hampton was the latest showcase to come to the seven cities.

The event lasted from 1 p.m.-8 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, and took place at Mill Point Park, located at 100 Eaton St, Hampton, VA 23669.

The park’s amphitheater featured a host of musical performances, which provided a relaxing ambiance for the crowd while painters crafted masterpieces on-site and various local businesses and vendors marketed and sold their merchandise.

According to Downtownhampton.com, the focus of the first annual event was to “be a bridge between local businesses, artists, and art and technological institutions in the area, to foster innovative collaboration and explore possible avenues for growth in our community.”
