Hampton, Va. – Syms Middle School was on lockdown for about 40 minutes on Wednesday afternoon while reports of a weapon on school grounds were investigated.
Police say there they received conflicting information from students and searched the school as a precautionary measure.
The lockdown was lifted around 1:00 p.m. and classes resumed as normal.
