Elizabeth City man faces multiple drug, traffic charges after Dare County traffic stop

Dare County, N.C. – An Elizabeth City man has been charged with multiple offenses after being pulled over by members of the Dare County Narcotics Task Force on October 20th.

Officers pulled over 22-year-old Daquan Tyrie Whidbee as he was heading north on Hwy 158 just over the Wright Memorial Bridge for a traffic violation.

Officers found Whidbee in possession of cocaine and marijuana.

Whidbee is being held in lieu of a $25,000 secured bond and was charged with: Felony Possession of Cocaine, Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia, Providing Fictitious Information to an Officer, Driving while License Revoked and Speeding

The Dare County Narcotics Task Force is made up of the Dare County Sheriff’s Office, Nags Head Police Department, Kill Devil Hills Police Department, Kitty Hawk Police Department, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations and North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement.
