Norfolk, Va. – A Norfolk man has been sentenced to 26 years in prison for taking sexual pictures of children.

Aaron Michael Burns, 26, pleaded guilty to making child porn on July 8.

Court documents say that a 3-year-old girl was taken to an emergency room, claiming that Burns touched her genitals in June 2013.

Norfolk police arrested Burns, but left his computer powered on at the victim’s house.

The victim’s dad saw a desktop folder labeled “child-sex” and police searched and seized a number of Burns’ computer devices, according to the Department of Justice.

The Norfolk Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations conducted a forensic examination and found over 20 pictures of the 3-year-old victim engaging in sexually explicit conduct, along with sexual pictures of another toddler and multiple sexual pictures of children that Burns downloaded from the Internet.

In addition to his 26 years in prison, Burns was sentenced to a term of lifetime supervised release.
