Virginia Beach, Va. - Police in Kill Devil Hills and Virginia Beach are looking for a man accused of shoplifting thousands of dollars worth of groceries.

The man stole $3,000 worth of groceries at the Food Lion in Kill Devil Hills, police said. He may have also stolen things at stores in Nags Head and Southern Shores, according to police.

Beach police are looking for the same man and another man. Officers say they stole $5,000 worth of groceries at the Harris Teeter in the Red Mill neighborhood.

"I think it's terrible. We all work hard," said Kathleen Pellegrino, a shopper. "This is a new grocery store in the neighborhood. We all want to keep our neighborhood safe."

Are they hungry? Are they reselling the groceries? Right now, that's not clear. "It's unimaginable someone is that desperate," said Pellegrino.
