Newport News, Va. - Police are now investigating after a shooting was reported in Newport News on Wednesday.
The shooting happened in the 200 block of Pauls Park Circle at the Pauls Trailer Park around 9:05 p.m.
When police arrived on the scene, they found a 27-year-old Williamsburg man inside of one of the trailers who had been shot in the lower body.
He was taken to the hospital with a non-life threatening injury.
Police have not yet determined why the shooting occurred. Police say based on information given to them by witnesses there, an altercation may have occurred.
The suspect started to shoot and the victim left the scene.
