Detectives investigating armed robbery in Portsmouth

Portsmouth, Va. – Detectives are investigating an armed robbery of Howie’s Mini Mart on September 3.

It happened just after 11:00 p.m. in the 3300 block of Turnpike Road.

The suspect entered the store, showed the clerk a gun, and demanded an unknown amount of money.

The clerk complied with the suspect’s demands.

The man ran away in an unknown direction.

Detectives say that the man is described as a black male wearing blue jeans, a black t-shirt and a black mask.  They say he was about 6’1″ and weighed 180 pounds.

No one was injured in the incident.
