Virginia Beach, Va. (WTKR)-Virginia Beach Police have released a sketch of a man they think is responsible for sexually assaulting a woman inside her Sherry Park home.

The attack happened Sunday, August 30, 2015 just before 7 p.m. on Sherry Avenue.

According to police, the man got into the woman's home while she was alone and then sexually and physically assaulted her.

The man is described by police as a white male in his early 20s, between 5'10'' and 6' tall, with a slender build and medium dirty blond/brown hair.

He's also described as having bad, uncared for teeth and bad breath.

NewsChannel 3' Brendan Ponton spoke to a neighbor who says the victim ran to his house following the attack and told him what happened.

The attacker broke in through the back of the house when she was home alone, according to the neighbor.  He then attacked and assaulted her, but the victim fought back and fired a shot at her attacker, according to what the victim told the neighbor. The attacker then ran from the scene and police are still trying to find him.

"We want him caught as soon as possible," said one neighbor. "She needs justice."

Neighbors tell us a man had shown up uninvited to the house before, but that the victim doesn't know him. The victim said her attacker has horrible breath and messed up teeth, according to a neighbor.

Police say the man was wearing a long sleeve shirt and possibly jeans.
