Chesapeake, Va. - Another incident involving an alleged police impersonator has been reported in Chesapeake.

On August 24th at 9:20pm police received a call about a suspicious police vehicle at the 168 bypass & Hanbury Rd. exit.

Two women who are friends were following each other home from an event.  As they exited the bypass northbound at the Hanbury Rd. exit, a black Dodge Charger began following them.

They described the Charger as all black with tinted windows, a dark shield over the license plate and dark rims with a blue light on the dashboard.

The woman driving just in front of the suspect vehicle was suspicious and drove east on Hanbury Rd., then turned into a 7-11 at Hanbury Village.

The Charger did not follow her and continued on Hanbury Rd. behind the second woman, who was in the lead car.

She too was suspicious and made a U-turn at Hanbury Rd. & Hillwell Rd.  The Charger did not turn and proceeded down Etheridge Manor Blvd. Neither of the two women saw the driver.

These two incidents are currently under investigation.  It is unknown at this time if they are related.

Chesapeake police say if an individual suspects a traffic stop is not legitimate to call 911 and drive to a populated area.

If anyone has any information about these incidents or this type of activity, they are encouraged to call the police or the Chesapeake Crime Line.
