James City County, Va. – Three juveniles have been charged with arson in connection to several boats destroyed by fire Monday at the First Colony Marina in James City County.
Five boats were damaged by fire. Two were completely destroyed.
James City County Fire units were dispatched to the marina at 5:42 a.m. Monday morning.
They arrived at 5:49 a.m. to find a 16-foot sailboat and a 23-foot pleasure boat, both in dry dock, on fire. Both boats were extinguished by 5:55 a.m.
The two boats are listed as complete losses. Three others had scorch burns.
Upon further investigation of the area it was discovered that several other boats at the marina had signs of vandalism.
