Woman, teen injured in double stabbing in Portsmouth

Portsmouth, Va. - Two people have been hurt following a double stabbing during an altercation in Portsmouth on Monday.

The incident occurred in the 6000 block of Churchland Blvd.

Police say a woman and a juvenile were taken to the hospital.

The woman was stabbed in the neck and her injuries are considered serious. The male juvenile was stabbed in the arm. His injuries are not life-threatening.

The boy has been treated and released but the woman remains in the hospital.

There's no information about a suspect at this time.

"I really hope they do find him," says a neighbor. "I was surprised because that kind of thing does not happen around here."

Police say the woman was stabbed outside of the apartments in the hallway. Police are not sure how the teen became involved in the incident. They say he's not related to the woman and are not sure if he even lives in the complex.
