Kill Devil Hills, N.C. – Police in Kill Devil Hills are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man and woman who used fake American Express Traveler’s Checks at two businesses on July 3rd.
The main suspect is a black male wearing a white “Hollister California” t-shirt. The man appears to be 35-45 years old, medium build, average height and bald. He was in the company of two black teens. The name signed on the traveler’s checks was “DeMarion Freeman”.
During the investigation, it was determined that a man using the same name and matching the same description also used fake Traveler’s checks in South Carolina and Georgia.
Suspect may also be using identification associated with UPS. In a separate but presumably related incident, a light-skinned, medium build black female, with her hair pulled back and wearing blue jean short shorts, also passed fake Traveler’s Checks at the Kill Devil Hills Dollar Tree.
