More showers and storms are on the way….We hope you’ve enjoyed the calm, quiet weather today because it will soon be going away, at least for a day.

But first, for tonight, expect mostly clear skies early on. Low temperatures will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Clouds will build across the area overnight into early Thursday morning, all ahead of rain that will move in. This unsettled weather we’re forecasting is all courtesy of a front that has settled over the Carolinas. An area of low pressure is expected to move along the front, giving way to scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some of the rain could be heavy at times, which could produce some minor flooding. Otherwise, expect mostly cloudy skies. Highs will be in the mid 80s.

A few lingering showers are possible early Friday over North Carolina. Otherwise, for most of us, we’ll see mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid and upper 80s. More sunshine is expected through the weekend with high temperatures in the middle 80s.  Rain moves back in early next week.

Tonight: Mostly Clear to Partly Cloudy. Low temperatures in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Winds: S 5 mph.

Thursday: Partly to Mostly Cloudy, Scattered Showers/Storms(50%). High temperatures in the mid 80s. Winds: NE 5-10 mph.

Friday: Lingering Showers (20%). Otherwise, mostly sunny. High temperatures in the mid and upper 80s. Winds: NE 5-10 mph.
