Man wanted in connection to July 9 shooting in Suffolk

Suffolk, Va. – Suffolk Police are looking for a 21-year-old man in connection to a shooting that occurred in Suffolk on July 9th.

Shots were fired in the 300 block of Holladay Street in downtown Suffolk at 10:17 p.m. that night. When officers arrived they found Aaron Lemonte, 22, outside of his vehicle in the 400 block of Bank Street suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body.

He received emergency medical treatment by Suffolk Fire & Rescue before being airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General with non life-threatening injuries.

Dazeion Jawan Houseworth, age 21, of Suffolk, is wanted on charges of Aggravated Malicious Wounding, Attempted Armed Robbery, Use of A Firearm in Commission of a Felony, Shoot Stab Cut or Wound, and Discharge a Firearm in Public with Injury.

Houseworth is described as 6’3”, 150 pounds with brown eyes, brown hair and dreads.  Houseworth should be considered armed and extremely dangerous.  He is known to carry firearms.  If seen, do not attempt to interact with him but immediately contact 911.
