Virginia Beach, Va. – The 16th Annual Allen Stone Braveheart Races will be held on Saturday, July 18 at 24th Street along the boardwalk at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.

The event will feature a run-swim-run, 5K run/walk, and 1 mile children’s fun run. All proceeds will benefit the Navy Seal Foundation and the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad.

The Braveheart Run-Swim-Run was first held in 1999. A local Navy SEAL, Allen Stone, competed and won the 20-29 age group. Allen was killed shortly thereafter in a SEAL training accident at the age of 30. The race was renamed in his honor.

Participants can register at http://www.AllenStoneMemorial.com. Day-of registrations will also be accepted. Activities will begin at 7 a.m., and the first race will begin at 7:40 a.m.
