Virginia Beach, Va. – The City of Virginia Beach and Peterson Companies are teaming up to develop VA ViBe!, a 230,000-square-foot entertainment complex in the oceanfront area. The Virginia Beach Development Authority has authorized a 12-month extension of the exclusive negotiation period to develop terms that will advance the project.

VA ViBe! will be located on the former Dome site, 9.6 acres of land between 18th and 20th streets in between Pacific and Arctic avenues. The Dome was the premier entertainment venue in Virginia Beach for over 35 years. The complex hosted superstars such as Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones and Ray Charles. The Dome existed on the site until 1994.

The plan consists of 125,000 square feet of entertainment that could accommodate a luxury movie theater, upscale bowling, and a live theater or exhibition venue. There will be approximately 65,000 square feet of experiential restaurants hosting fine dining options. In addition, plans include approximately 40,000 square feet of destination retail that could host art studios, jewelry boutiques, wine shops, and more.

Estimates show that 2,380 full-time and part-time jobs will be created with the implementation of this project . Estimates also place the total capital investment at $100 million.
