Wilmington, N.C. – A 62-year-old woman was hurt when the fishing boat she was in ran around southeast of Wanchese on Tuesday.

The Coast Guard responded by sending out a 24-foot Special Purpose craft, shallow water crew from Station Oregon Inlet.

When crews left, they also brought two Dare County EMTs along as well.

When they arrived, they administered first aid and took the woman to the Coast Guard small boat.

Once she reached the Outer Banks Barina in Wanchese, she was then taken to the Outer Banks Hospital in Nags Head.

No details have been released about the condition.
